Zettai Kaikyuu Gakuen ~Eden with roses and phantasm~ Otome Game Review

No spoiler review.

I went into this game really blind, only knowing that kaito and namidai was in it, has high reviews and has an interesting setting of obvious discrimination in a school setting. Despite me thinking ‘phantasm’ in the title meant it was going to go otomate way, making everything strange the result of some magical or demonic force, Daisy*Daisy bound the story up quite well, leaving realism with realism and peeling off the layers of mysteries slowly.

Essentially, Zettai Kaikyuu Gakuen is like Kuroshitsuji (public school Arc) meets Caste system, complete with horse riding and dogeza bowing, with some apartheid district thrown into it too. While I wouldn’t say it’s a human drama kind of story since I was mostly angry throughout the game rather than sad, the romance was well written and believable, with enough cutesy bits and interaction with the love interests to make it a proper otome game. It’s rare that I’m satisfied with the romance in an otome game, and that’s already a plus point. Continue reading

Ken Ga Kimi for V – Otome Game Review

I remember loving the PC version lots and decided to play the Vita version as well. Despite me disliking to re-read visual novels, I still had lots of fun with this Vita port, since the extra scenarios were really sweet and funny, and some of the Ken endings epilogues were so sad I became all teary and started annoying my hamsters by fluffing them the wrong way. (;’∀’)

There’s a new OP and ED themes for Ken/Kimi endings. Here’s the song Kogetsu for Ken ED, sung by yours truly! Ken Ga Kimi has one of my favourite song collections. As expected from Rejet!

Possession Magenta Otome Game Review

Another non-spoiler because sorry I am too lazy to write out the summary for such a long game and honestly the character routes are not worth writing about. I actually forced-skipped through them except for MinJye and Souta.

Possession Magenta in a nutshell:

D3P Teikoku Kaigun Koibojou ~ Meiji Yokosuka Koushinkyoku Official site opens! (PSVITA)

(*´▽`*)(*´▽`*)(*´▽`*)(*´▽`*)

I know I’m getting too overly excited about this game but it seems like it’s gonna be way more interesting than I thought it would be. The website just opened officially and I was crunching on Matcha Kitkats while looking at it and nearly choked from excitement. (;´・ω・) But y’know, why do they have to give such long names? (And we thought Rejet’s ‘moshi kono sekai ni kami-sama ga iru to suru naraba’ was bad)

Anyway, apart from Yunohana Spring and Ayakashi Okawari, this is gonna be the next big thing I will be stalking, frequently.

Story: It’s the 36 year of Meiji and the country is recovering from the remains of the Nisshin war (Chinese-Japanese war). Mihagi Sonoo (heroine) has just graduated from the instructor school, but has yet found a job and at her wit’s end. She then finds Continue reading

Code:Realize ~ Sousei no Himegimi Game Review

The name ‘Cardia’ (now associated with heart) has Latin origins and means ‘axis’. ‘Finis’ also has Latin origins and means ‘the end’, and the naming is probably important to the story.

I have mixed feelings about the game. The art and music were certainly top notch coupled with its full exploration of a Gothic fantasy 19th-century London (which made it easy for the player to sink into the game’s world), and the start screen was exceptionally gorgeous, with a different view of industrial London depending on the time you play the game, with clouds moving over the screen, and planes, if you were lucky 😉

However, I have a few points that I feel makes the game a disappointment.

1) The game feels like they tried too hard to surprise players and ended up becoming a bad version of Agatha Christie and whodunnits. I appreciate good mysteries but certainly not when the revelations are totally unimportant to the story. Example, Van Helsing’s master is a good man. No he’s not. No wait, he’s just lonely. No wait, he has some links to Erlock Sholmes. No wait, Erlock Continue reading

Re:BIRTHDAY SONG (shinigami kareshi)

Game Review here: https://jyuuguchi.wordpress.com/2015/03/25/rebirthday-song-game-review/

Hohoho! They revealed the cast and here I am again on my off day, awaiting the later half of the year so I can play all those games….

Introduction:

This series is split into two games. This post is for Re:Birthday song that releases in Winter. The heroine is a shinigami candidate at a school, and all her playable characters are also shinigami candidates, whose age is that of which they died in real life. And I love the design of this heroine. Short hair! I mean, when did we ever get a short-haired heroine?

The heroine Cocoro did not choose a partner and as a result, ends up almost failing. She then has to attend some remedial class and there meets a few boys who have their own circumstances… and she ends up having to pair up with one of them. Will they successfully become shinigamis or…?

coco

She’s naive but energetic and speaks to everyone without fear of rejection. She died on the day of her 17th birthday, and since then has been trying to become a shinigami. She fails at everything she does, but tries her best nevertheless. She knows little about herself since she has confused memories from her time in the living world.  Continue reading

Quinrose – Majoou

This game didn’t interest me very much when I saw the words ‘Demon’ and I didn’t even bother looking through the website. I thought: “Huh. Another demon thingy? Bo–ring”. But after flipping through DGS I thought ‘hell I wanna play this!!’ And so here I am, to introduce this game for RPG lovers like me.

Well it’s not an RPG but when you have a Warrior, a Mage, a Fortune Teller and the Majoou, what else tingles but your RPG senses? Throw in other random bits like a handsome prince offered as a sacrifice to you, your loyal servants who taught you swordfighting and Batou(s) you with sarcasm, what else can you do but rush to your favourite online store and pre-order Majoou?!

Story:

In a world where magic exists, a castle where the demon king lives stands alone in a deep dark forest. The heroine is the daughter of this demon king. One day, her father receives an oracle from the dark god and has to leave the castle for a while, leaving his daughter to take over the throne temporarily. However, it is a difficult position since many demons(magic users) kill humans for fun and the humans view the demons as enemies.

Will the heroine, who has feelings towards humans be able to fulfil her role…?

Code:Realize Cast announcement & Sub-characters!

IT’S HERE. Alright, it’s no surprise the usual seiyuus are voicing Code:Realize, but let’s get on with imagining their voices in character now. Sub characters look pretty interesting…. and their designs are looking good too! Mm…. the main character’s CVs were meh, but the sub-characters deepen the mystery…..
