D3P Teikoku Kaigun Koibojou ~ Meiji Yokosuka Koushinkyoku Official site opens! (PSVITA)

(*´▽`*)(*´▽`*)(*´▽`*)(*´▽`*)

I know I’m getting too overly excited about this game but it seems like it’s gonna be way more interesting than I thought it would be. The website just opened officially and I was crunching on Matcha Kitkats while looking at it and nearly choked from excitement. (;´・ω・) But y’know, why do they have to give such long names? (And we thought Rejet’s ‘moshi kono sekai ni kami-sama ga iru to suru naraba’ was bad)

Anyway, apart from Yunohana Spring and Ayakashi Okawari, this is gonna be the next big thing I will be stalking, frequently.

Story: It’s the 36 year of Meiji and the country is recovering from the remains of the Nisshin war (Chinese-Japanese war). Mihagi Sonoo (heroine) has just graduated from the instructor school, but has yet found a job and at her wit’s end. She then finds Continue reading

Otomate – Hyakka Yakou Game Review

Introductions for this game (character, story) are here.

The theme of the story is “Sanzen sekai no shigarami wo koete, nushi to jiyuu ga mitemitai” (I wish to cross the bondages of three thousand worlds and be free with you my loved one) which plays on the original song penned by Takasugi Shinsaku: “Sanzen sekai no karasu wo koroshi, nushi to asane ga shitemitai” (I wish to kill the crows of three thousand worlds and try sleeping past morning with you”. The courtesans who were trapped in their brothels, either by debt or having been sold by their parents or relatives never had interactions with their guests past that one night, so even if someone they loved bought them for a night, they were unable to spent any more time with them, and this song became a popular ‘lovesong’ for the courtesans of that time.

After playing the game, I also noticed the clever play on Hyakki Yagyou (The legend of the head of the spirits leading the demons in a procession across the human world) and a similar theme turned up in Hakuren’s route.  Continue reading

Urakata Hakuouki – Game Review & Artbook チラ見せ

*no spoiler review, didn’t type out character routes

Rolling around waiting for Re:birthday Song and Psychedelica, I was deciding between Urakata Hakuouki or Shirahana no Ori to fill my time. I didn’t like the original Hakuouki series so I didn’t bother much about this game when it was released, thinking it would be a milking of the series again, but upon checking out the website, decided to play Urakata, and I love it.

This includes elements of a Map search where you can take requests from the townspeople or the playable characters to raise their affection points / get items to increase your stats.

maps

While this is somewhat like Hanayaka Nari’s map system where the maid goes about the town and the mansion to fulfil requests, this system is much easier to use and more straightforward, where the requests you accomplish have a direct effect on affection points Continue reading

New Otomate Title – Hyakka Yakou

Game Review here: https://jyuuguchi.wordpress.com/2015/02/22/otomate-hyakka-yakou-game-review/

Finally we have a little more information about this game, the still scenes were released today, together with sample voices. It’s been around 2.5 months since the official website was opened, I thought I’d do some introductions, since no one seems to have done it yet.

Story

The stage is the Hanamachi (Japanese direct translation: flower district, English equivalent: red-light district. Crude way to express it: Prostitution quarters), the actors are humans and ayakashi. This a story of elopement, with the freedom of the one you love on the line…….

This is the village where the world of ayakashi and the world of humans mix, “Takamagahara” (Heavens) where the glorious Hanamachi stretches on in the eternal night. The beautiful lanterns that glow brightly, the bewitching kimonos and the Continue reading

Snow Black – Review

Again, a little reminder, this is a review, not a translation, so there will be only be summaries and my thoughts on the game.

This second QR game I play was a much better experience than Satomi, but I have the same complaint: too many silly endings, one-style-fashion sprite, the presence of a random JiiJii character that disgusts me and QR style ‘every playable character had the same storyline except for the icha parts’. But QR’s heroines are always hilarious and not the goody-two shoes (thank you CERO D?) who live to please others, which made it amusing to play through.

djdjdjdj

Our heroine Lib is the adopted daughter of the country Tressor’s royal family, making her the first princess of the country. Before 12, she lived with the trash of a father who treated her like a slave. But she had always been in love with a man who treated her gently and he would come on the snowy days to comfort her.

For Jyuzaengi 2 lovers: character popularity surprise

Sorry for being too free. So what’s the surprise about this whole Jyuzaengi2?

ffff

The characters gather to hear about the results of the popularity contest, and it is revealed that there will be a situation CD released based on one of these themes:

A date / Marriage interview / master and servant / looking after him when he’s sick and …….

Sleeping together

So who won the popularity contest?  Continue reading

Jyuzaengi Engetsu Sangokuden 2 – Review

The system got better here, without having to complete the Peach Garden to move on in the story, and the fiery home background was really to my liking. The music was the same as the first game, with  few more addition of tracks at different places and more character themes. I didn’t like this OP as much as the first game, as Takagaki Ayahi’s vocals here were horrible. Her high note was really forced and jarring to the ears. I never really liked her singing voice, though her continuing in the music industry proves to me that the seiyuu industry sells whatever they can to push up the reputation of seiyuus….

Take note that while the two Jyuza games have never-dying never-aging characters, the real battles spanned around 24 years. This game did make me quite amused, as out of all Chinese history, to this day the battle at Chi Bi remains one of my favourites.

First, since the Chinese and annoying Japanese readings of the characters are quite different, let me re-introduce them, (with random historical bits I remember thrown in)

Liu Bi Army

Liu Bi – Is read Liu Bei in the Chinese way. He was the first emperor of the three kingdoms and known for his benevolence to the country people.

Kan U – Guan Yu. Was a GUY, and was a criminal who fled from his country rofl and joined Liu Bei’s voluntary army. He is worshipped as a god by some Chinese religions.

Chou Hi – Zhang Fei, eventually married Ka Kou En’s niece. His daughter married Liu Bei’s son and became a queen. (Please imagine this game’s Chou Hi doing that. rofl) Continue reading

Taisho Guuzou Roman: Teikoku Star – Seishirou translations

Please buy the CDs if you like the series! They are available on a variety of websites like Rakuten, Amazon, CDJapan, and the original CD makers. CD pirating undermines the work of the seiyuus, storywriters and others involved in making the CDs. So please buy an original copy!

=====================================

“俺は帝都に輝く一番星、夜空の道しるべとなる星だ。時代の闇が濃くなる時こそ、俺は輝かなければならない。それが俺の生き様、俺の夢。”

That’s my favourite line from his track… It packs so much into his life, and when he said that, I didn’t dislike him so much anymore because it feels like he stopped living for only himself.

First up, my thoughts. Seishirou’s like a child. His level of pranks is no better than elementary school coupled with the sexy of an adult man which places him somewhere between amusing and annoying for me. Maybe because I have a sadistic streak, I laugh when he bullies her and puts on an innocent face(voice). Sorry for being me (・∀・) And putting aside my dislike for Mejojo-look and sound alike, mm… the parts where he kisses her is delish.

His ‘night’ part is really sweet because he starts to slowly accept her, and when he gets all weak and fearful when his bullies appear, it makes me go all “Ooh poor little baby…” ( ´∀`)

Though I did translate line by line for the key scenes in their relationship and his past,  not all are line-by line-translations. But most of it is. Have fun reading!

———————————— These are my own translations,  credit if you use them ——————–

Opening Act

Seishirou meets the heroine in the streets when he passes by on his carriage, when he sees her standing there absentmindedly. The strap of her sandal has broken and he fixes it for her. “The one who should offer his thanks is me. Your smile is like a flower bud that blossomed, I feel like I have seen a beautiful flower. But be careful… Men are always thinking of picking beautiful flowers…” He then leaves after those words bidding her goodbye. Continue reading

Hanasaku Manimani – Review

I am so sorry for being lazy (lol). I know you guys wanted me to write a review for quite some time already, but I got distracted by Ken 8D

The video below is the ED song with CG (my own screenshots), take a look if you wanna check out the CG.

Ok first thing for this game, awesome system, but it’s a REALLY long game. Totally worth my moneh. The BGM, settings and design for the controls were really good, the best of any PSP game I’ve played so far. The opening and closing songs were also really good.

Second, the storyline was really good. The heroine is too courteous and lets people walk all over her but she has her harem to protect her from the bad guys so it’s fine. I waited damned long to play Kurama because I had to finish the other 4 characters first, but he opens up after playing any single character.

Third, the CGs pop up at good moments and made me ‘doki doki’. The art isn’t very fancy Continue reading

Diabolik Lovers: More Blood – Review

Diabolik Mosquitoes  Lovers

Review of this game:

(*´Д`)ハァハァ + ( ゚皿゚)キーッ!!

The end.

———————————————————-

This is a review, not a translation, so at best I will tell you what I liked about the game and a short summary of what happened.

I was really looking forward to playing Ruki but I didn’t feel Sakurai’s voice suited that character. His low voice sounds the same in almost every character which doesn’t make me feel like I’m playing a new guy. (Urgh the effects of Mejojo -_-) The gameplay allows you to play several characters at once in a non-confusing way, which means if you get tired of being sucked by one of them, you can always get sucked by another (lol)

The art is kinda pinky which is girl-stereotype but I like it nevertheless. The original games was horrible with all the abuse, And here we have an additional set of vampires who were originally humans and so a little more human. (In fact we have the awesome Azuazu)

MukamiDIABOLIK LOVERS MORE,BLOOD_0004

———————————————————-

Ayato

Sadistic Ore-Sama abuses the heroine with words (ok, which of them doesn’t…) but he really just doesn’t want to admit his interest in her. He is too focused on seeing her as food though he actually takes interest in her as a woman. I actually like him quite alot. While trying to prove to himself he didn’t need her, he tried to stay away from sucking her blood Continue reading
