I haven’t had the time to do a full review, and I’ve not completed two routes yet, but here is a quick summary of my thoughts of the game before year 2016 ends. (Yikes! An almost empty gaming year!)
Please remember that these are my opinions and you are free to agree or disagree. Also, I’ve not written an otoge review in god-knows-how-long, so forgive me if my style is a little different from what it usually is. Continue reading
Review is finally here, complete with play video!
Of course, we all know why anyone would play this game. Whipping errant ayakashi boys into shape is such a new concept to all the Do.S lovers out there, I jumped on it immediately with one aim in mind, to get back at the otome world for producing trash like diabolik lovers. But whipping your 2D lover isn’t a new concept in itself. NipponIchi created Criminal Girls sometime ago with the same function to ‘punish’ the love interest. Though why is whipping girls Cero D and whipping (ayakashi) boys Cero C? Do I sense some sexism here?
Unfortunately, the game wasn’t as Do.M as I expected it to be and the ideas for the character routes themself were cliche, but integrated with ayakashi to make something new out of them. For most routes anyway. Continue reading
Ok I didn’t plan to do translations or a review for this, but I received some funny emails over the weekend and thought I should redress Misao’s grievances (‘◇’)ゞ I’m sorry if this may seem a little challenging or even rude, but I promise I intend to offend in no way. Instead of responding to every email, I’ll just type a post here and take a breather from Hyakka Yakou. I’d wanted to save this for Vol.6, Hayato’s CD, but it seems like clearing things up now will be better.
1) Misao is NOT a bisexual.
In the otome industry, there’s either homosexual(for the fujoshi) or straight guys for the otomes. Producers will be highly afraid to introduce a bisexual into otome games and CDs, unless he’s an Onee who discovers his male hormones work better when Continue reading
The seven wonders of your high school as you get possessed by the spirits. How nice. (・∀・) As I mentioned in my compilation post here, Yuu Gen is a Situation CD whereby you experience getting possessed by different kinds of Japanese ghosts with the famous dummy head mic. Summer is a time where we like telling ghost stories to ‘cool off’. I’m not sure we got this tradition and my dad’s ghost stories were never frightening. (They were mostly bad oyaji jokes.)

This comprehensive map was amusing enough. The hitodama (human souls that glow like a fire) mark where each of the 6 Youkai (spirits) you come into contact with normally are. The spirits in human form, speak to you in the afternoon and lure you to themselves at night. Continue reading
An update for this, finally! Good news for those who have been looking forward to this, and while we know nothing of the release date, I’m hoping it will be around Christmas. I’m looking forward to Re: more than Un: but I shall not make any hasty judgements… for now.
“I will sing the song that you will hear last…….”
A normal highschool girl suddenly has two men appear in front of her one day. With strange appearances, they tell her that she has only one month left to live. Introducing themselves as shinigami, they have come to tell her of the limit of her lifespan.
She accepts the fate that has come upon her suddenly, but before she gives her life over to the death gods, she has a wish that she absolutely wants to come true……..
That is, to tell her feelings to the boy she has one-sided feelings for. Continue reading
What can I say?
BRING IT ON OTOMATE. Senjou no Waltz is looking better and better with every addition they throw at us. Though…….. Some of the side characters look more interesting that the ones with routes.
Game Review here: https://jyuuguchi.wordpress.com/2015/03/25/rebirthday-song-game-review/
Hohoho! They revealed the cast and here I am again on my off day, awaiting the later half of the year so I can play all those games….
This series is split into two games. This post is for Re:Birthday song that releases in Winter. The heroine is a shinigami candidate at a school, and all her playable characters are also shinigami candidates, whose age is that of which they died in real life. And I love the design of this heroine. Short hair! I mean, when did we ever get a short-haired heroine?
The heroine Cocoro did not choose a partner and as a result, ends up almost failing. She then has to attend some remedial class and there meets a few boys who have their own circumstances… and she ends up having to pair up with one of them. Will they successfully become shinigamis or…?
She’s naive but energetic and speaks to everyone without fear of rejection. She died on the day of her 17th birthday, and since then has been trying to become a shinigami. She fails at everything she does, but tries her best nevertheless. She knows little about herself since she has confused memories from her time in the living world. Continue reading
